Norm on the radiological safety of nuclear sources

Draft regulation “Norm on the radiological safety of nuclear sources”, prepared by the National Commission for Nuclear Activities Control, under public debate (http://www.cncan.ro/informatii-de-interes-public/proiecte-de-acte-legislative/arhiva-proiecte-acte-legislative-2016/):

The draft regulation proposes a set of protection requirements for workers, the public and the environment against risks from natural radiation sources.

Its scope is the planned exposure situations associated to industrial and scientific activities involving natural radiation sources the presence of which causes a significant increase of radiation exposure for the workers and/or the public, that cannot be ignored from a radiological point of view.

The draft regulation transposes some provisions of Directive 2013/59/EURATOM of the Council of 5 December 2013 laying down basic safety standards for protection against the dangers arising from exposure and repealing Directives 89/618/Euratom, 90/641/Euratom, 96/29/Euratom, 97/43/Euratom and 2003/122/Euratom.
